In out-breaks of war between groups or nations the most vulnerable are the children. The nature of war is by itself a very traumatic experience for children. The fact that parents cease to possess the capacity to protect their children from harm is indeed distressing. Refugee children need special protection mechanisms. Quite often the children are left without one or both parents and can move distances in search of safety all on their own, Needless to say these are extremely vulnerable members of the refugee population. The world needs to set aside resources to meet the special needs of refugee children.
